Long time, no update. A lot has happened since Jacob passed away. A house move enabled us to have a new start, which has helped tremendously. Nicky is now pregnant for the third time since loosing Jacob, having experienced a miscarriage and then the still birth of our daughter Rebecca this summer. We truly hope our run of bad luck is now at an end, we have had more than our fair share.
Despite our difficulties we are also aware that other parents of children with neuroblastoma may read this website, so we don’t wish to dwell on the pain of our loss. Instead, we choose to offer hope. Hope about how life continues, about how you can learn to laugh again, learn to believe that things can be okay again.
Ben is the key to our survival, no doubt. He brings light and love into our lives everyday, Whenever we see the dark clouds looming, one look at his face and everything seems to make sense.......
So, our life is (sometimes) just like before. Jacob’s spirit lives on in Ben; that voice, the laughter his cheeky ways, but he is also his own person and is growing up fast. Life is wonderful with him in our world. Jacob and Ben were so close and we believe that Jacob has passed on his beauty and grace to Ben and also something else, something undefinable....
We remain unsure on whether or not to keep Jacob’s website active. Are we refusing to let go? perhaps. But Jacob’s website serves as a beacon for all that was so wonderful about his life. It is a part of him and touched so many people and also enabled so many people to reach out to us. So, perhaps (or not) for the last time on this web site, we wish you all a Happy Christmas.
Anthony, Nicky and Ben.
