I once spoke (and sang) of Jacob being a ‘Child of the Sea”. Well, we returned to that same sea recently and, as I always do, wrote Jacob’s name in the sand. We feel Jacob is with us everywhere we go and we like to think that he is watching us, enjoying everything we do and living our lives with us. Jacob is now part of everything that surrounds us and writing his name in the sand somehow reinforces that.
I’m not sure if anyone still reads Jacob’s website. We have decided to keep it live for now, to honour Jacob’s memory. If we are honest, we can’t bear the thought of taking the site down, it shows so much of what made Jacob special.....his spirit.....his smile......his bravery.
We have not disconnected from the world of neuroblastoma. We still have ongoing fund raising for the Neuroblastoma Society and hope to attend a conference in London shortly which will be attended by the families of survivors and angels, and several eminent oncologists from the USA. The purpose of this meeting will be to discuss new treatments and whether anything can be done to improve treatment in the UK.
Thank you for coming back.....
