My Diary

Jacob is now in London and will begin his radioactive MIBG treatment on the 27th November at London University Hospital. As usual, the parting of myself (Daddy), Ben, Jacob and Mummy was difficult to say the least. Jacob has now been in and out of hospital for almost a year now. The tears come and go, but the pain of separation persists. It’s been a long, hard year, and I think we are all a little tired.

Jacob, as usual, is amazing the staff on the ward with his energy and general well being. Although we were somewhat daunted by him having to enter isolation for his treatment, Jacob himself is actually quite excited about having his own room in hospital which is now referred to as the TARDIS! We are really just trying to turn this all into a little adventure for him.

We have tried to fill Jacob’s room with cards, posters and pictures. The Christmas decorations have also gone up early! There is still plenty of space though, so anyone wishing to send a letter or card to Jacob can send it to:
Jacob Marsland
London University Hospital
11th Floor Children’s In-patient Unit
235 Euston Road
London
NW1 2BU

They will all be gratefully received.

The fund raising for Jacob has got off to a fantastic start and the response from friends, family, work colleagues and the local community has been overwhelming. We have many people to thank, and I now think I need to add a new page to this website to do this properly.

We also appeared on our regional television news programme (Granada Reports) recently, so we are hoping this will give Jacob’s appeal an extra push. To see the broadcast on-line, go to Granada Reports and click on the ‘Local News’ link on the left column, then click on the ‘Granada Reports’ on the right column. Finally click on the news link dated Tuesday 20/11/07.

So, I end this update by saying please keep Jacob in your prayers. We are still looking forward and are remaining positive. Do come back and visit!

In The TARDIS
